The Simulation Center
Our medical simulation center showcases a wide range of state-of-the-art training technologies designed to support the development of resident physicians across all WRHE programs. Through immersive, hands-on experiences, residents will engage with high-fidelity simulators, procedural task trainers, and advanced imaging tools that replicate real clinical environments. This dynamic approach to learning will strengthen clinical skills, sharpen decision-making, and promote teamwork—ensuring residents are well-prepared to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.

Laerdal 3G SimMan with SimCapture and SonoSim
Our simulation lab features the Laerdal SimMan 3G integrated within a dedicated SimCapture room, providing residents with a fully immersive, high-fidelity training environment. Learners will engage in realistic clinical scenarios that promote critical thinking, teamwork, and rapid decision-making, while SimCapture enables video recording, performance review, and structured debriefing. This integrated system will enhance learning through real-time feedback and reflective practice, that will help residents refine their clinical skills and improve patient care outcomes.

OB Simulator with SonoSim
Our simulation lab features an obstetrics simulator station integrated with SonoSim technology, offering a comprehensive, hands-on experience in obstetric and point-of-care ultrasound training. Residents can practice managing realistic maternal and fetal scenarios while simultaneously developing ultrasound skills in image acquisition and interpretation. This combined approach will promote clinical decision-making, reinforce best practices in obstetric care, and build confidence in handling complex, real-world situations in a safe learning environment.

Ultrasound Simulation with SonoSim
Our simulation lab also includes a SonoSim station, providing residents with immersive, hands-on ultrasound training. Through realistic case scenarios and interactive modules, learners will develop skills in image acquisition, interpretation, and clinical decision-making. The platform allows for repeated practice and immediate feedback, helping residents build confidence and proficiency in point-of-care ultrasound before applying these skills in patient care.

Central Line Stations
Our simulation lab features a central line training station designed to help residents build confidence and competence in a safe, controlled environment. Using high-fidelity task trainers and guided instruction, learners will practice sterile technique, ultrasound-guided insertion, and complication management without risk to patients. This hands-on experience will reinforce best practices, enhance procedural accuracy, and prepare residents for real-world clinical scenarios.

Surgical Sciences ENDO & LAP Mentors
Our surgical simulation lab features advanced ENDO and LAP Mentor training stations from Surgical Science, providing residents with a highly immersive environment for developing endoscopic and laparoscopic skills. Through realistic, procedure-based simulations, learners will practice hand-eye coordination, instrument navigation, and operative techniques with immediate performance feedback. This technology-driven training supports skill progression, enhances precision, and prepares residents for safe, effective performance in the operating room.

Butterfly iQ Point of Care Ultrasound
Our simulation center incorporates the Butterfly iQ point-of-care ultrasound system across many training stations, enhancing the realism and versatility of simulation-based learning. This portable technology will allow residents to practice ultrasound-guided procedures, image acquisition, and clinical decision-making in a variety of simulated scenarios. By integrating ultrasound into existing equipment and exercises, learners will gain valuable experience applying point-of-care imaging skills in a seamless, hands-on environment that closely reflects real clinical practice.

Laparoscopic Trainer Stations
Our surgical simulation lab includes a dedicated area with multiple laparoscopic trainer stations, that will allow residents to build and refine minimally invasive surgical skills through consistent, hands-on practice. These stations will provide a focused environment to develop hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and instrument handling using a variety of task-based exercises. This structured training will support progressive skill development, enhanced precision, and eill help prepare residents for successful performance in the operating room.

Suturing Simulation Lab
Our simulation lab includes a suturing station designed for surgical residents to develop and refine essential procedural skills. Using realistic task trainers, learners will practice a range of techniques—from basic interrupted sutures to advanced knot tying—in a controlled, low-pressure environment. This hands-on training will reinforce precision, efficiency, and proper technique, helping residents build confidence and competence before performing procedures in the operating room.
