Dr. Justin P. Mikula will bring a dynamic blend of clinical expertise, executive leadership, and a deep commitment to education as Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency - Rural Track Program at WRHE. In his new role, Dr. Mikula will work side-by-side with residents in the continuity clinic and will help to shape a learning environment grounded in mentorship, autonomy, and real-world clinical experience.

A board-certified Internist, Dr. Mikula has been caring for patients in the Warren, Ohio community for nearly two decades. His leadership experience includes serving as Chief Medical Officer at Trumbull Regional Medical Center, where he championed initiatives in quality, safety, and physician engagement. This systems-level perspective translates directly into how he will prepare residents—not just to practice medicine, but to lead within it.

Dr. Mikula earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University and completed his internal medicine training at Summa Health System. He continues to contribute to academic medicine as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), reinforcing his commitment to teaching and mentorship.

Residents will work closely with him in both inpatient and outpatient settings, benefiting from direct guidance, thoughtful feedback, and a strong emphasis on clinical reasoning and patient-centered care. He will be deeply invested in each resident’s success—supporting their individual career goals while fostering confidence, independence, and professional growth.
